Shady Grove Cemetery

In eastern Oklahoma just outside of the town of Muldrow, Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery is located.

This community consists of many people who come from the community of Cherokee Freedmen.  Many still live on land allotments obtained when their families went through and were enrolled by the Dawes Commission. The settlement where most of the families live is known as Shady Grove, though technically part of Muldrow.

There is one person known to have been a Civil War soldier who is buried at this cemetery, as his grave is identified through his military marker.
